TechDufus Profile

Hello, I'm TechDufus

You can call me Dufus

DevOps Engineer • Defense Contractor • Cloud Architect • Terminal Enthusiast

Status: Probably fighting with DNS somewhere

Welcome to My Digital Space

I'm a DevOps engineer working in defense contracting, passionate about cloud-native technologies, automation, and building resilient, mission-critical infrastructure. This is where I share my journey through the ever-evolving world of technology and national security.

My Journey

I started my career deep in the PowerShell ecosystem, building automation tools like AdminToolkit and Helpdesk to help teams streamline their Windows operations. Over time, my curiosity led me to explore containerization, orchestration, and cloud platforms.

Kubernetes & Containers

Building scalable, resilient applications

GitOps & CI/CD

Automated deployment pipelines with ArgoCD and Helm

Infrastructure as Code

Crafting infrastructure with Terraform

Cloud Platforms

Designing solutions across AWS, Azure, and secure government cloud environments

Monitoring & Observability

Ensuring systems are observable and maintainable

Defense & Security

Building secure, mission-critical infrastructure for national security

Terminal Workflow

Living in tmux sessions and Neovim

What You'll Find Here

This blog serves as my digital garden where I document learnings, share tutorials, and occasionally dive into personal reflections. Whether you're here for PowerShell tips, Kubernetes deep-dives, or just curious about the tech industry, I hope you find something valuable.

Living in the Terminal

My daily workflow is dominated by terminal and CLI tools - I try to work exclusively from the command line whenever possible. You'll find me navigating through tmux sessions, editing code in Neovim, and automating everything I can.

Beyond the Code

When I'm not knee-deep in YAML files or debugging network policies, you might find me exploring new technologies, contributing to open source projects, or sharing knowledge with the community. As a follower of Christ, I believe in building with purpose and serving others through the gifts I've been given.

My thoughts and opinions are mine
I use Neovimbtw (and yes, I'll tell you about it)
DNS is always the culprit

Working with private container registries in enterprise environments If you’re working in an enterprise environment, you’ve probably encountered the need to use private container registries instead of pulling everything from Docker Hub. This introduces additional complexity around authentication and security that can be tricky to navigate. I spent some time working with Nexus as our private Docker registry, integrated with...
